Steal plotlines from comics to build your game, safe in the knowledge that someone already got away with it so it’s gonna be good.
As a starter I suggest the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles plotline where they randomly get swallowed by a giant floating cow head which abducts them through time and space to fight in a gladiatorial area filled entirely with anthros until they fight the system instead, forcing the giant cow head to return them home via a brief stop off to talk about the dangers of global warming.

The best part of this story arc is that Raphael randomly decides to keep the black spandex costume they forced him to wear in the arena after the other turtles go back to their regular getups, and for the next couple of arcs you have Leonardo, Donatello and Michelangelo in their standard colour-coded bandanas, and then there’s Raphael just rocking budget Venom cosplay.
